DTI eyes a more relaxed quarantine status in NCR

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is planning to recommend a more relaxed quarantine status in Metro Manila for next month.

According to DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, the relaxed quarantine status is timely to help the Philippine economy recover. The only reason for the delay of the easing of restrictions in the region is the reported new cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) UK variant.

Sec. Lopez added that if the cases continue to decline, the DTI will recommend the easing of the quarantine status starting March.
