MMDA eyes using tunnel boring machines to address MM flood

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) plans to use the tunnel boring machines to address the flood problem in Metro Manila.

This was the “wild idea” of MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos on Wednesday’s hearing of the House Committee on Metro Manila Development.

He suggested the idea of using the tunnel boring machines for the Metro Manila Subway Project in the construction of a flood spillway. Chairman Abalos further explained that the spillway can be created from Laguna De Bay to Manila Bay. -PTV News
