OCTA urges LGUs to implement liquor ban, stricter age restrictions

The OCTA Research Team urged local government units (LGUs) to implement a liquor ban and stringent age restrictions to prevent the increase in the number of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

The team believes that imposing the said restrictions will help in the compliance with safety protocols and the decrease of the transmission of COVID-19.

The group reported that as of March 8, the reproduction number of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila has increased to 1.66 almost the same with the reported number in August 2020. It cautioned that the occupancy rate in hospitals may also increase due to the spike. -PTV News
