DILG to release uniform travel protocols

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is set to release a memorandum circular on the uniform travel protocols for local government units (LGUs).

According to the DILG, it has been noticed that several LGUs do not follow the uniform travel protocols in spite of Malacañang issuing Resolution No. 101 that eased travel requirements. LGUs are still waiting for the implementing rules and regulation on the matter.

Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya stressed that any LGU that does not comply with the MC once it is released will receive a show cause order from the DILG.

In relation with the increase in the number of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, the DILG reiterated the strict implementation of health protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus. – Report from Karen Villanda
