President Rodrigo R. Duterte led the inauguration of the newly developed Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport and newly constructed Port Operations Building (POB) at the Port of Dumaguete on Thursday.
At the two events, President Duterte commended the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), and other concerned agencies and partners of the government for their completion “despite the sudden lockdown due to the pandemic”.
“We’re gathered today for the inauguration of another successful project aimed at enhancing the seamless connectivity of our islands, promoting more vibrant trade and tourism, bringing growth to the countryside.”
The Chief Executive was pleased with the newly developed airport and newly constructed port building in Dumaguete. He is optimistic that the newly completed projects will “promote the tourism industry” in Visayas.
He also assured that the government will remain “committed to finish all infrastructure projects on time if possible” within his administration “with the least inconvenience to the public and with the strict adherence to honesty and integrity”. -NGS, PTV News Online
