The Philippine National Police (PNP) implemented stricter checkpoints on the first day of the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) bubble in Metro Manila and nearby provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna.
Only Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs) or individuals who have essential travel are allowed to cross the border.
PNP Officer-In-Charge Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar personally inspected the checkpoint in MacArthur Highway at the border of Calumpit, Bulacan and Apalit, Pampanga, one of the checkpoints installed by the PNP at the boundary of NCR Plus bubble.
Both provinces are implementing the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to those who are crossing the border. Motorists experienced heavy traffic at the checkpoint area as the result of stricter screening process.
Motorists were asked by police officers to present IDs and state their destination and the purpose for travel. Minimum health standards are also being strictly observed.
People who are going home inside the bubble are allowed to enter as long as they present proof of residence.
