Quezon City rolls out vaccination program in District 6

PR

Community frontliners of the 6th District of Quezon City receive their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Placido Del Mundo Elementary School in Brgy. Talipapa. Among the first recipients of the shots are the members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), personnel and contact tracers of the Quezon City Health Department (QCDH).

QCDH aims to inoculate at least 6,000 frontliners who are included in the priority list of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). These include health care workers of public and private clinics, diagnostic laboratories, home for the aged facilities, and rehabilitation centers, as well as personnel from the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) and responders from the QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Aside from Placido Elementary School in District 6, the city government has delegated vaccination centers in every district: District 1 – Quezon City General Hospital; District 2 – Batasan Hills National High School; District 3 – Emilio Aguinaldo Elementary School; District 4 – St. Luke’s Medical Center grounds; and District 5 – Kaligayahan Multi-purpose Hall. QCDH said that these centers will be open from Monday to Wednesday to give vaccine shots to frontliners.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Task Force Vax to Normal co-chair Joseph Juico and QC District 6 Rep. Kit Belmonte personally visited these centers on their first day of operation to observe the process of getting a vaccine shot.

“Parating na po ang ilaw sa dulo ng tunnel,” Cong. Kit Belmonte said with great hope that the country is nearing the end of this pandemic. He also reminded the public that getting vaccinated and following the minimum health protocols will be our most effective defense against COVID-19.
