PCGH, Pasay quarantine facilities almost on full capacity

A week after receiving a report from Officer-In-Charge Dr. Jonvic De Gracia that Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH) is in full capacity, the City Public Information Office also updated on March 23, Tuesday that the quarantine facilities in Pasay are almost on Full Capacity Occupancy Status, specifically:

Pasay City Complex Census – 60 patients, Vacant: 1
Burgos Quarantine Facility Census – 44 patients, Vacant: 0
Mall of Asia Arena Census: 132 patients, Vacant: 3
Fat Quarantine Facility Census: 97 patients, Vacant: 0

Based on the reports of the City Health Office to the PIO, out of the 4 quarantine facilities that have a total of 224 bed capacity, only 4 beds are currently available for future positive COVID-19 patients.

Because of this, the city has already requested the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to provide additional quarantine facilities to Pasay through its Oplan Kalinga Program.

“Mayroong request si Mayor [Emi Calixto-Rubiano] few weeks ago [made] to Oplan Kalinga through MMDA if pwede madagdagan yung quarantine facilities (Mayor [Emi Calixto-Rubiano] has a request a few weeks ago [made] to Oplan Kalinga through MMDA if there could be more quarantine facilities [for Pasay]),” Mr. Jun Burgos, Public Information Officer of Pasay City disclosed.

Meanwhile, Pasay City General Hospital is still in full capacity. Dr. De Gracia cited that out of 32 beds for COVID confirmed patients, 34 are occupied. This means that the occupancy rate reached 107% today.

Despite this, the Emergency Room (ER) Entrance of the hospital is now open for non-COVID cases and PCGH pledged that all efforts are being exerted to find additional beds for COVID patients, especially those with severe cases.

“We are still currently planning on how to increase our [beds for] confirmed cases. Please bear with us,” Dr. De Gracia appealed. – Louisa Erispe
