The Manila local government recorded on March 24 the highest number of healthcare workers and frontliners inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine in a day, with 2,428 individuals given the AstraZeneca jab.
The Manila Health Department also reported that to date, 10,412 individuals in the city have now received doses of vaccine of either CoronaVac of Sinovac Biotech or AstraZeneca.
“We have reached the 10,000 benchmark; marami pa tayong babakunahan [we have more to vaccinate],” Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said in his daily COVID-19 situation report.
Healthcare workers are the top priority of the government’s vaccination program, including frontline workers in health facilities as well as barangay health emergency response team (BHERT) personnel.
Meanwhile, 112,795 Manila residents have pre-registered for the city’s vaccination program at www.manilacovid19vaccine.com.
The local government of Manila has set a target of inoculating 18,000 residents per day once the vaccination program among the general population has begun.
