The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded more than 5,000 violations on the first day of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus Bubble areas.

According to the data released by the PNP, a total of 2,807 individuals were fined, warned and arrested but were released after regular filing of charges due to violation of the unified curfew hours which is from 6PM to 5AM. The NCR had the most violators with 1,894.

Minimum health protocols were also violated by some 2,598 individuals in the NCR Plus Bubble which include not wearing of face mask, face shield and failure to observe psychical distancing.

Seventy-nine persons tried to enter Bulacan but were denied entry after failing to present proof that they are considered Authorize Persons Outside Residence (APORs) or an essential workers.

The PNP earlier said that the first day of reimposed ECQ in NCR and its adjacent provinces was generally peaceful. However, challenges were encountered such as the adherence to the protocol on public transport capacity especially in jeepneys and motorcycles.

Slowdown of traffic flow in checkpoints is another difficulty due to the failure of some people to present proof that they are APORs or essential workers.
