Police search in Tarlac yields gun, grenade; Suspect arrested

A police search ordered by the Court resulted in the confiscation of a handgun and a grenade from a 58-year old suspect in Bamban, Tarlac today.

At 10:00AM, a team from the CIDG Regional Field Unit-3 served a Search Warrant against FLORENTINO VIUYA JR in Bamban, Tarlac issued by Hon. Jeovannie C Ordoño, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 109 of Capas, Tarlac dated March 29, 2021.

Confiscated from the suspect were: One Cal 45 pistol; One piece live ammunition for cal 45; One piece magazine assembly for cal 45; Five pieces live ammunition for cal 45; Nine pieces live ammunition for 9mm; and One (1) fragmentation hand grenade.

CIDG investigators are closely looking into possible links of the suspect with criminal or threat groups in the region, Sinas said.
