Johnson & Johnson submits EUA application for its vaccine

The Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed on Monday that the American pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson (J&J) submitted an application for an emergency use authorization (EUA) for its Covid-19 vaccine.

According to FDA Director-General Eric Domingo, they have received the application, which is currently undergoing evaluation.

The J&J Covid-19 vaccine only requires a single dose, compared to the other eligible vaccines. According to several studies, this vaccine can also fight the new variants.

The national government aims to acquire five million doses of the J&J vaccine.
