Message of Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on Labor Day

PR

We join the Filipino nation in honoring our workers, especially our hardworking and life-saving frontliners along with our industrious essential workers, as we celebrate Labor Day.

Their impactful contributions to nation-building and to our COVID-19 response have always been valued, respected, and appreciated, which is why the Duterte administration has continued to implement and execute programs and measures that promote their protection and well-being.

The Filipino labor force truly exemplify hard work, perseverance, ingenuity, resilience, grit, and determination–traits that have become more apparent during this global health crisis which has halted traditional work operations not only in the Philippines, but throughout the world.

Let us honor and remember the selflessness and dedication of our hardworking Filipino workers serving in the frontlines both here and abroad. Their tireless commitment to their profession, despite the risks, serve the majority of us and help us better endure the challenges we are currently experiencing.

We also express deep gratitude to journalists and members of the media, frontliners in their own right, who continue their coverage and their delivery of needed and life-saving information for us all.

May the sacrifice, determination, and bravery of our Filipino frontline workers be an inspiration to us all. May we show our appreciation of their efforts by following all health protocols and measures while the government undertakes its vaccination program against COVID-19, for us to heal and recover as one nation.

We wish everyone the strength of character and the best of health today and for the days to come.
