Central Luzon COVID-19 recoveries hit 80k

According to a report by the PNA, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Central Luzon has reached 80,000 since the outbreak of the coronavirus disease last year last May 8.

In its regional case bulletin released Friday night, the Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD) reported 888 new recoveries, hiking up the total to to 80,372.

Central Luzon currently has 7,837 active cases. Fifty-three of the total cases reported are asymptomatic cases, 7,645 are mild, 62 are moderate, and 19 are critical.

The total number of deaths due to the coronavirus disease is 2,128 while the recoveries represent 89 percent of the total 90,337 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

DOH-3 (Central Luzon) director Cesar Cassion  reminded the public not to be complacent and to follow the minimum health standards amid the vaccination rollout.

He also  encouraged the public to support the implementation of preventive measures against COVID-19.  “To protect one’s health and safety is everyone’s responsibility,” he said in an earlier statement. -PNA/PG-RIR
