PNP, PDEA operatives destroy marijuana plants worth P4.48-M in Cebu City

Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed millions of pesos worth of marijuana plants Monday evening (May 10) at Sitio Sampinitan, Brgy. Tagba-o, Cebu City.

PNP Chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the police authorities and PDEA uprooted more or less 11,200 fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P4.48 million.

The operation was headed by Cebu Provincial Police Office, SWAT PDEG-SOU7 led by Police Lt. Col. Regino Maramag, in coordination with PDEA Regional Office VII Cebu.

The 800-square-meter space is owned by Boy Ardimer.

“Manhunt operations are underway to arrest the said suspect, [and] appropriate court charges await… the weed cultivator,” Eleazar said.

Cases for violation of Sec. 16, Art. II of Republic Act No. 9165 are now being prepared for filling against the aforementioned suspect.
