The Department of Health (DOH) announced that the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered so far is 2.5 million.

In a Laging Handa public briefing on Wednesday (May 12), DOH Undersecretary and National Vaccination Operation Center (NVOC) Chairperson Myrna Cabotaje said that as of May 11, 6:00 p.m., of the 2.5 million vaccine doses administered, 1,195,381 doses were given to frontline workers, 466,899 to senior citizens, 353,843 to persons with comorbidities, and 8,916 doses to  economic frontline workers.

She said that 514,655 persons have received their second dose of the vaccines. She also reported that there are 1,047 active vaccination sites as of May 10.

“We have about 7,764,050 [doses] na na-receive na natin and five million ang Sinovac, so it will be about 2.5 million for the first dose and 2.5 million for the second dose. So ganyan ang kalakaran ng ating mga bakuna,” Cabotaje added.

She said the number of deployed AstraZeneca vaccines is 1.6 million out of 2 million, while 84,000 Pfizer vaccines out of 193,050 have been used.

“Sa Gamaleya, first dose pa lang ang binigay, iyong first component. Naibigay na halos lahat, wala na tayong dose na naiiwan except that the report is not yet complete. Mga 14,400 pa lang ang nairi-report, but wala ng mga doses,” she added.

Cabotaje also said they aim to vaccinate at least 70,000 persons per day for the next month, then 100 to 200,000 more per day in the next quarter. Currently, the daily number of vaccinated individuals is at 60,000 to 70,000. –jlo
