Signal No. 2 up in some Mindanao areas as Crising intensifies

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to heavy and prolonged rainfall as tropical storm Crising intensifies while it moves west-northwestward towards Davao Oriental-Surigao Del Sur Area.

Based on the 2:00 p.m. severe weather bulletin, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 is raised over the following areas:

  •     southern portion of Surigao del Sur (Lingig, City of Bislig)
  •     southern portion of Agusan del Sur (Loreto, Trento, Bunawan, Santa Josefa, Veruela)
  •     northern portion of Davao Oriental (Boston, Cateel, Baganga)
  •     northern portion of Davao de Oro (Laak, Monkayo, Montevista, Compostela, New Bataan, Nabunturan, Mawab)
  •     northern portion of Davao del Norte (Kapalong, San Isidro, Asuncion, New Corella, Talaingod)

 

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is also raised over the following areas:

  •     rest of Surigao del Sur
  •     rest of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte
  •     rest of Davao Oriental
  •     rest of Davao de Oro
  •     rest of Davao del Norte, Davao City, Bukidnon, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin
  •     eastern portion of Zamboanga del Sur (Josefina, Molave, Tambulig, Aurora)

 

Moderate to heavy rains over Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao del Norte are expected between today and tomorrow.

Moderate to rough seas will also be experienced over the eastern seaboard of Mindanao in the next 24 hours.

Crising currently has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. Its center was located East of Davao City, Davao del Sur at 1:00 p.m. today.
