4 Caloocan resort guests test positive for COVID-19

Four attendees of the gathering in the Gubat sa Ciudad Resort in Caloocan City on May 9 have tested positive for COVID-19.

Caloocan COVID-19 Command Center Head Atty. Sikini Labastilla on Monday (May 17) said they have initially contacted 123 guests from the 287 stubs given by the resort management. 43 guests have undergone antigen testing.

“Out of the 43, mayroon pong apat na nag-positive. Isa po sa kanila ay experiencing headache and migraine. So the rest po, ‘yung 80 na hindi pa po namin nate-test, either have been subjected to antigen testing kanina [May 17] or tomorrow [on Tuesday (May 18)].”

Labastilla said three out of the four positive guests were brought to the quarantine facility while one is a breastfeeding mother waiting for the test result of her child. The three positive patients were female and one minor.

The official added that the patients’ household members tested negative for the virus.

The Caloocan resort was shut down due to violation of health protocols under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) declared in early May.
