Rep. Villar unveils ‘May Bahay sa Bakuna’ vaccine incentive program

Las Piñas City is rewarding residents who get vaccinated against COVID-19 by offering them the chance to win groceries, motorcycles, or a brand new house-and-lot in a raffle organized by Deputy Speaker and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar.

“We want to reinforce the importance of getting vaccinated for people, their families, and the community. It will not only protect people but help our economy slowly recover,” Villar said, reiterating the position of health experts that vaccination is safe and essential to helping end the pandemic.

The promotion dubbed “May Bahay sa Bakuna: Bakunado Ka Na, May Bahay ka Pa!” runs from June 15 to December 23 and is open to all residents of Las Piñas who have received a single dose of any vaccine brand.

The lone district representative said she expects the initiative will encourage her constituents to get immunized, adding that they are eyeing a high vaccination rate when vaccine doses become available in most parts of the country.

“Through this effort, we also have a chance to increase awareness and confidence in vaccines,” she added.

According to the most recent survey by the Social Weather Stations, only three out of 10 Filipinos want themselves vaccinated.

To qualify for the raffle, residents must be at least 18 years old. Raffle tickets are available at all barangay halls for those who have already been vaccinated, and at vaccination centers for the newly vaccinated. The properly filled-out numbered tickets must be dropped at barangay halls or AllHome and AllDay Supermarket branches within Las Piñas.

Monthly draws starting July 15 onwards will be conducted and 50 winners will be given a “pangkabuhayan showcase” worth P5,000. The grand draw will be held on December 24 and participants will get a chance to win two motorcycles and a house and lot from Bria Homes.  (Rep. Villar’s office) -jlo
