QC to launch ‘Bakuna Nights’ for essential workers

By NG Seruela

The Quezon City (QC) local government is set to launch “Bakuna Nights” on Wednesday (June 16) evening to vaccinate workers after working hours.

In a statement on Wednesday, the QC government explained that it created a vaccination program that opens at 6:00 p.m. to attend to the many city workers who do not have time to get inoculated during the day.

QC’s “Bakuna Nights” aims to “expand the reach of the city and immunize workers whose only free time is in the evening.”

QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said the program is for those who cannot leave their work to receive the vaccine.

“Ngayon, hindi na nila kailangang mamili kung arawang kita ba muna o bakuna. We will inoculate them at a time most convenient to them,” she said.

The “Bakuna Nights” will serve around 2,000 pre-registered frontline personnel from the essential sectors under the A4 priority group. They will be vaccinated at the Quezon City Hall Grounds. – jlo
