Lakas-CMD, handang suportahan si Sara Duterte sakaling tumakbo

Suportado ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) si Davao City mayor Sara Duterte, sakaling magdesisyon itong tumakbo sa mas mataas na posisyon sa 2022 national elections. 

 Ito ang inanunsyo ni House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez na president ng Lakas-CMD, na pinamumunuan ni dating pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo bilang president-emeritus.

 “If Mayor Sara Duterte decides to seek higher office for 2022, we are ready to work for her victory in the coming election,” ani Romualdez.

 Isang resolusyon ang pinagtibay kanina ng partido Lakas upang paigtingin ang kanilang alyansa sa Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) na partido ni Mayor Sara. Sinabi ni Romualdez na hindi nila pangungunahan ang alkalde at ang kanyang partido.

 Sa isang hiwalay na pahayag, sinabi ni Sara Duterte na hindi niya nalalaman ang detalye ng pakikipag-usap ng ilang miyembro ng HNP sa ilang national officials para sa eleksyon.

 “I am not privy to these discussions, but I was told that the meetings are about my candidacy for the presidential race in 2022. I was assured that everyone involved in these talks will respect my decision if I decide against running for President,” aniya.

  Ayon sa isang political analyst, maaaring mag-benepisyo ang alkalde sa ginagawang panliligaw ng ilang partido at pulitiko.

 “Anytime na may partido na nagbibigay ng endorsement sa isang kandidato, gain ‘yan para sa kandidatong ‘yun,” ani Prof. Ramon Casiple.

 Samantala, wala pang desisyon si Romualdez kung tatakbo siyang bise presidente sa kabila ng suporta sa kanya ng kasalukuyang pangulo.

 Aniya, mag-uusap din sila ng kanyang pinsan na si dating senador Bongbong Marcos na maugong din na tatakbo sa eleksyon. – Ulat ni Daniel Manalastas/AG- jlo
