U.S. President Biden extends his sympathies over PNoy’s death

United States (U.S.) President Joseph Biden extended his condolences on Friday (June 25) to the Philippines on the passing of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

In a statement issued by the White House, the American President said that ex-President Noynoy was a “valued friend and partner to the United States.” He added that the latter will be remembered for serving the Philippines with “with integrity and selfless dedication.”

“President Aquino’s steadfast commitment to advancing peace, upholding the rule of law, and driving economic growth for all Filipinos, while taking bold steps to promote the rules-based international order, leaves a remarkable legacy at home and abroad that will endure for years to come,” Biden said.

“I greatly valued our time working together, and I extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family and to all who will mourn his absence.”

Former president Aquino III passed away on Thursday (June 24) morning at the age of 61 due to renal disease. -jlo
