Philippine Red Cross continues vaccination drive

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Emergency Field Hospital (EFH) continues to vaccinate priority population groups from health workers, patients, to senior citizens and persons with disabilities. As of July 1, the PRC nurses and volunteers deployed in the EFHs have already administered more than 500 shots right outside the Lung Center of the Philippines.

“There is no time for waiting, we need to vaccinate as many people as we can immediately,” said PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard J. Gordon.

The PRC will now be vaccinating more families, targeting the close relatives of COVID-19 frontliners.

The Lung Center of the Philippines EFH was opened in April 2021. The EFH serves as a triage area and ward extension, providing more beds for those needing immediate hospital admission.  – jlo
