IATF releases guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals

By Christine Fabro

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced the finalized Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) protocols for fully vaccinated individuals on Sunday (July 4).

IATF Resolution No. 124-B states that an individual may be considered fully vaccinated when it has been more than or equal to two weeks after having received a single-dose vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose series.

A fully vaccinated individual must also be administered with vaccines listed under the emergency use authorization or compassionate special permit issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or included in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing.

The IATF said the intrazonal movement of fully vaccinated senior citizens within areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) shall present a COVID-19 domestic vaccination card for them to be allowed mobility.

Fully vaccinated individuals can also present a certificate of quarantine showing the holder’s vaccination status, as may be issued by the Bureau of Quarantine.

These proofs of vaccination can be alternatives to any testing requirement, before travel or upon arrival, for interzonal travel as amended in the provisions of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines.

In the event of getting into close contact with suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases, these individuals shall undergo a shortened seven-day quarantine period.

In case there is a need for RT-PCR testing, this may be conducted at least five days after the date of the exposure. – jlo
