Davao Region gets another 72K Sinovac jabs

Another 72,000 doses of the Chinese-made Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine arrived at the Davao International Airport (DIA) on Wednesday (July 7).

The vaccines were immediately brought to the Department of Health in Region 11 (DOH-11) for storage and distribution in the region.

In a statement, the DOH-11 said the vaccines are for the first dose and second dose of the A1 (medical front-liners), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities), and A4 (essential front-liners and uniformed personnel) priority groups in the region.

Currently, the region has received a total of 834,990 total doses of COVID-19 jabs.

“As of July 4, we have 762,990 vaccine doses and then we have an additional 72,000. All in all, there are a total of 834,990 doses,” it added.

The DOH-11 said the 762,990 vaccine doses were distributed in various provinces in the region.

Out of the number, a total of 517,210 were administered in the region – 425,139 for the first dose (85.4 percent) and 92,071 (34.7 percent) for the second dose.

For the A1 group, 94,531 have received the first dose and 64,112 for the second dose.

For the A2 group, a total of 141,807 received the first dose while 15,121 for the second dose. 

For the A3 group, a total of 141,997 received the first dose while 12,695 for the second dose.

For the A4 group, around 40,139 have received the first dose while 3 for the second dose. 

For the A5 (indigent population) group, a total of 6,685 received the first dose while 140 received the second dose. (PNA) -rir
