A shipment containing 37,800 doses of Sputnik V component I vaccines landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 last Saturday (July 10) night via Korean Air Flight KE623.
Department of Health-Bureau of International Health Cooperation officials Director Maria Soledad Antonio and Dr. Arthur Dominic Amansec witnessed the arrival of the vaccines.
Meanwhile, 132,200 doses of Sputnik V vaccines arrived in the Philippines last Friday night.
Vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. and Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Marat Pavlov were present at the arrival.
The vaccines were immediately transported to a cold-chain storage facility in Marikina City.
The current shipment completes the 170,000 doses to be received this week, and brings the country’s total doses of Sputnik V vaccine to 312,000.
More than four million doses of COVID-19 vaccines are set to arrive next week – 2.5 million doses of Sinovac, 1.7 million doses of AstraZeneca, and some 500,000 doses of Pfizer, Galvez said. – jlo
