Fishing activity continues within 7-km danger zone in Taal

Some fishermen were seen fishing within the seven-kilometer danger zone in Taal Lake on Monday (July 19), amid the threat of Taal Volcano eruption.

According to them, the volcano is less likely to erupt anytime soon.

However, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that even though the volcanic activity is decreasing, a strong explosion from the volcano can still occur at any time.

Taal Volcano Observatory resident volcanologist Paolo Reniva said on Monday that Alert Level 3 is still raised in Taal Volcano unrest.

According to the latest bulletin on Monday, Phivolcs recorded 10 volcanic earthquakes, including nine tremors.

This data is lower than 86 volcanic earthquakes, including 84 volcanic tremors recorded on Sunday (July 18). – Report from Ryan Lesigues / CF – rir
