NOLCOM and DSWD Region 3 ink partnership for calamity readiness

In observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month, Northern Luzon Command and the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 3 signed an implementing agreement on Monday, for the establishment of satellite storage at Camp Servillano Aquino, Tarlac City.

The agreement stipulated the arrangement of both parties for the prepositioning of relief goods utilizing facilities designated by NOLCOM as satellite storage inside Camp Servillano Aquino. 

Dir. Marites M. Maristela, CESO III, Regional Director of DSWD Region 3 expressed her gratitude to NOLCOM for the ‘immediate response to their request to establish satellite storage in Camp Aquino’. 

 

She added that “The undertaking is timely considering that the month of July is observed as the National Disaster Resilience Month, and efficient delivery of relief goods is essential for the establishment of disaster-resilient communities.”   

NOLCOM Chief, Lieutenant General Arnulfo Marcelo B Burgos Jr. is pleased that the undertaking has materialized, saying that “such undertaking is a significant initiative of the continuing strategic partnership between the two organizations that will benefit the people in the region.”

He emphasized that “The strategic location of Camp Aquino in Central Luzon is essential for the delivery of relief goods to be more responsive. Hence, the convergence of efforts between our organizations is a must in order for us to achieve our common goal of alleviating our people in times of calamities and disasters”.

Lieutenant General Burgos ended by saying that, “may this undertaking further forge a strong partnership and cooperation between DSWD and Nolcom for an efficient delivery of government services to our people in the region.”

The satellite storage that will be established in Camp Aquino will serve as an additional storage area of relief goods and other stockpiles of DSWD Region 3. The objective of the agreement is to efficiently and effectively deliver relief goods to the families residing in Central Luzon, especially during disasters. (NOLCOM) -rir
