Vaccine mix and mismatch reported in Davao Region

The Department of Health Region XI (DOH-11) confirmed two incidents of vaccine mix and mismatch in Davao Region’s vaccine rollout.

DOH-11 Regional Director Dr. Annabelle Yumang said in an interview on Wednesday (July 28) that two individuals who received different brands of COVID-19 for their first and second dose inoculation are now under observation.

Yumang said the mix and mismatch incidents happened in a vaccination site in Pantukan, Davao De Oro.

The medical expert clarified that mixing and matching of COVID-19 vaccines are yet to be implemented in the country.

“Ang ginagawa natin ngayon sa mga individuals who were provided with other brands of second dose were strictly monitored for possible [adverse event following immunization] dahil hindi natin ito pinahihintulutan, pero nangyari na ito kaya dapat may incident report,” Yumang said. – Report from PTV News / CF – jlo
