Brigada Eskwela 2021 kicks off virtually

This year’s Brigada Eskwela Program by the Department of Education (DepEd) sheds light on “ensuring the delivery of quality basic education amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The DepEd kicked off Brigada Eskwela 2021 in a virtual ceremony in Tagum City, Davao Del Norte on Tuesday (August 3).

In a Facebook post, DepEd said the Brigada Eskwela Program shall be implemented from August 3 to September 30, with focus on “collaboration and strengthening partnership engagements that complement DepEd efforts to implement the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).”

“Adjustments have been made because of the unique circumstances of our pandemic at this time,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said in her speech.

“Brigada Eskwela has become a major program of the Department of Education, where the entire community gathers together and helps out in whatever way each member can,” Briones added.

Sec. Briones cited some of the DepEd’s achievements over the past years, including the Marawi incident that has moved each region to adopt particular schools and places in Marawi City, and accept all children in all government schools. – Report from Clodet Loreto / CF – rir
