In the latest The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) resolution issued on August 7, some areas in the country were placed under stricter community quarantine.
To assess the health situation in all areas in the Philippines, the task force is using metrics in deciding on quarantine rules – such as the two-week growth rate, average daily attack rate, and health care utilization rates.
Below is the list of community quarantine classifications for this month:
Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)
- Until August 20
- National Capital Region
- August 8 to 22
- Bataan
- August 6 to 15
- Laguna
- Iloilo City
- Cagayan de Oro
Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ)
According to the amended Omnibus Guidelines on the implementation of community quarantine, this refers to the transition phase between ECQ and GCQ, when temporary curbs such as stringent limits on movement and transportation of people, strict regulation of operating industries, provision of food and essential services, and heightened presence of uniformed personnel to enforce community quarantine protocols are relaxed and become less necessary.
