Palace: Gov’t is ‘finding ways and means’ for PH vax cards to be accepted in other countries

The Palace assured on Tuesday (Aug. 10) that the government is “finding ways and means” for other countries to acknowledge the Philippine vaccination cards, especially because it is one of the requirements needed for entry into certain countries.

In a tweet, Foreign Sec. Teodoro Locsin Jr. said the PH vax cards are not accepted in Hong Kong due to their not being “connected to a single source.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque expressed disappointment over the incident. He said the government is doing its best for the acceptance of the country’s vaccination cards by other nations.

He also said the Philippines is not the only country facing such a matter.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said in a public briefing on July 9 that the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is looking into the unification of vaccination cards for fully vaccinated individuals so that their usage will be harmonized and synchronized.
