SWS: 68% of Filipinos have ‘easy access’ to COVID-19 vaccination site

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed that 68% of Filipinos have “easy access” to a COVID-19 vaccination site.

In a survey conducted from June 23 to June 26 with 1,200 respondents, 68% of adult Filipinos said they have “easy access” to a COVID-19 vaccination site, 3% have “difficult access,” and 29% said they have “no access at all” to a vaccination site.

In relation to this, the survey found that 51% of Filipinos considered the pace of vaccination “slow” in their own barangays while 41% said the pace is “alright.” For the vaccination pace in their own city or municipality, 44% said the pace is “slow,” while 49% said it is “alright.”

For the country’s vaccination pace, 50% of the respondents said the vaccination pace is “slow,” while 45% said it was “alright.”

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the result of the SWS survey where 68% say they have an “easy access” to a vaccination site is a “result of the combined hard work of the departments in the Executive, the local government units (LGUs), and major stakeholders, including key private sector leaders who contributed [to] our national vaccination program.”

He added that to improve the vaccination pace, they are “addressing vaccine supplies by procuring more vaccines, increasing personnel or vaccinators by considering pharmacists and medical interns or underboard, and having barangay health centers as vaccination sites.”

“We are likewise undertaking initiatives, together with our partnership with the LGUs and the private sector, such as having malls as vaccination sites, drive-thru vaccination, bakuna all day and night, house-to-house vaccination to inoculate the elderlies and vulnerables, to reach more people,” Roque added.
