DICT: Digital vaccination card OK for int’l travel

By Pearl Gumapos

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Thursday (Aug. 19) said the upcoming digital vaccination card may be used in place of the yellow card being given by the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ).

“Kagandahan ng digital certificate ay makakasigurado ang ibang bansa na ito ay issued by the country’s ministry of health. Ito na po ang panibagong standard ng World Health Organization,” DICT Undersecretary Manny Caintic said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

Said certificate may be availed through a portal that will be accessible to the public.

In assuring the protection of data, Caintic said the information that will be used in the digital vaccination certificate will be handled by only one agency, DOH.

Caintic said the targeted release of the certificate is in the first week of September.

-rir
