BOC seizes ₱120-M worth of luxury yachts

The Bureau of Customs (BOC), along with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), seized four luxury yachts worth ₱120 million docked in the Manila International Container Port (MICP).

The BOC said on Monday (Aug. 23) that the yachts were used for transport services and were being offered as venues for events. The yachts were confiscated through a seizure order issued by the MICP.

Moreover, the boats did not have a conversion permit and the due taxes for its operation have not been paid. The owner of the yachts or whoever is involved in its operation will face a violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
