DOH, FDA: Only 0.0017% got COVID-19 out of 13.8-M fully vaxxed persons

The Department of Health (DOH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Thursday (Sept. 9) that as of Aug. 29, only 0.0017% out of 13.8 million fully vaccinated individuals contracted COVID-19.

Based on FDA data, there were only 242 individuals who got infected with COVID-19 more than 14 days after their second dose, or 0.0017% out of 13.8 million individuals inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines.

“Out of 13.8 million na fully vaccinated, sobrang konti lang ang nakakuha ng COVID-19. Saan ka pa tataya?” FDA Director-General Eric Domingo said.

Moreover, out of 33.3 million jabs, 0.18% had suspected adverse reactions. Of this number, only 0.006% were reported as having a serious adverse reaction. The DOH and FDA said the benefits of getting the COVID-19 vaccine continue to outweigh its risks.

The DOH and FDA also encouraged individuals to report experiences of adverse reactions to the FDA website or their City Health Office (CHO). ### (DOH-FDA) – jlo
