BARMM chief: BARMM one of Duterte’s ‘greatest contributions’

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Ahod “Al-Haj Murad” Ebrahim said the establishment of the BARMM is one of the “greatest contribution” of the Duterte administration.

In a statement, Ebrahim said only under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s rule that the more than two decades of negotiation between the national government and the Bangsamoro people led by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) resulted in the establishment of the BARMM.

“I think everybody will agree with me that greatest contribution of the Duterte administration to the Bangsamoro people and Filipino people is itong pagpapatayo ng BARMM.”

“Ito ‘yung biggest contribution as far as we are concerned dahil ngayon lang nangyari ito, sa panahon lang ni President Duterte,” he said.

The BARMM chief hopes that peace, progress, and development in the area will be achieved.

“We are hoping na magkaroon na talaga ng tunay na kapayapaan, progress, at development ng area.”

He added that “genuine” and “lasting” peace will not only help them, but also the entire country.
