DILG issues warning to businesses with unvaccinated personnel

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) warned that they will close down business establishments whose staff and employees are not yet inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine.

DILG Undersecretary Marti Diño said in a media forum on Sunday (Sept. 19) that unvaccinated staff can be carriers of COVID-19 to their customers.

“Lahat vaccinated, baka mamaya iyong isang hindi vaccinated, iyan pa ang magdala ng epidemya kaya lahat 101% vaccinated, pati nag-ma-manicure, pedicure, pati hair stylist ay vaccinated,” Diño said.

He added that the DILG may order dine-in restaurants and personal care services establishments with unvaccinated staff to stop operations.

“Definitely mapapasara sila sa oras na hindi sila sumunod sa health protocols katulad ng karinderya, pagkain, hindi pwede na hindi bakunado ang nag-se-serve diyan. Hindi natin alam sa kusina, [baka] hindi naka-face mask,” Diño said.

According to the DILG, it is monitoring business licensing and permit offices of local government units. – Report from Cleizl Pardilla / CF – bny
