BAGUIO CITY – Offices of the local government in the town of Tublay, Benguet have been ordered closed starting Monday (Sept. 20) until further notice to give way to disinfection, contact tracing, and swab testing of government employees.

On its official social media page, the municipal government announced that their services “shall be temporarily suspended effective Sept. 20 until further notice” after 37 new cases were recorded on Sunday (Sept. 19).

Mayor Armando Lauro, in a text message on Monday, said that mandatory rapid antigen testing of municipal employees will be done.

“This is to ensure the safety of all employees in the workplace and the safety of the general public,” the mayor said.

He said the work operation will resume as soon as safety actions being done have been completed.

In an earlier post, the municipality said there are 164 active cases after 37 new cases were recorded on Sunday (Sept. 19) with municipal employees and officials not spared by the infection.

Lauro reiterated anew his reminder to the residents to continue to strictly observe the minimum public health standards as a protection and to be vaccinated when it is their turn to get the jab. (PNA)
