NCR nears population protection at 71.86%

The National Capital Region (NCR) has administered second doses to 71.86% of its population, just a few counts away from achieving population protection where 80% must be fully vaccinated.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, NCR has administered a total of 15,396,718 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and that the region is nearing population protection.

“Kapag nangyari po [ito], hindi lang magiging masaya ang ating Pasko, magbabalik buhay din po tayo,” Roque said.

As for the first dose, NCR has administered 85.63% of its population or 8,371,360 jabs.

Meanwhile, the whole country has administered nearly 44 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with 26.33% of the population receiving their second dose and 30.63% receiving their first dose.

The country has a daily jab rate of 118,460 and NCR has a daily jab rate of 43,362.
