PH vax deliveries breach 70-M

As part of the country’s ongoing vaccination program, another batch of government-procured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines arrived on Wednesday (Sept. 29) night.

Some 391,950 vaccine doses arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 around 8:30 p.m.

With the latest vaccine delivery, the country has now received over 70 million vaccine doses.

According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez, Jr., more vaccines are expected to arrive next month, including government-procured and donated vaccines.

As of Sept. 28, 69,699,340 vaccines arrived in the country. Of this, 44,964,020 are government-procured, 16,067,680 are donated by the COVAX facility, 5,028,500 are procured by local government units and private sectors, and some 3,639,140 vaccine doses are donations from other countries.

Based on the data from the NTF, as of Sept. 27, around 20.3 million Filipinos or 26% of the country’s eligible population are now fully vaccinated, while more than 23.6 million have already received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. – Report from Rod Lagusad / CF – bny
