Raffy Tulfo, JV Ejercito file candidacy for senator

By Pearl Gumapos

Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo has filed for candidacy as senator as an independent candidate while former senator JV Ejercito hopes to make a comeback as he files for senator as well.

According to Tulfo, he aims to author laws that will serve unfortunate Filipinos.

“Kung babalikan po natin ang sinabi ni dating pangulong Ramon Magsaysay, “He who was less in life should have more in law.”

Meanwhile, JV Ejercito, who will be using the name JV Estrada during his candidacy, says he will be pushing for the proper implementation of the universal health care law.

“I’ve thought about it deeply for the past months whether or not I should run. After giving it much thought and looking at what is happening, today, especially with this pandemic, I feel that it is my obligation and my duty all the more to push the universal health care law which I sponsored and authored while I was in the Senate,” he said.

He says the weaknesses of our health care system are all already under the universal health care law, and that it will all be a matter of proper implementation and prioritizing. –rir
