Elderly men, teenager among most wanted people arrested by Bicol police

LEGAZPI CITY – The regional police on Friday (Oct. 1) rounded up nine most wanted persons, including two elderly men and one teenager, in separate raids in Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 (Bicol) spokesperson, Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, said in a statement on Saturday (Oct. 2) that cops armed with court-issued warrants collared the suspects who are facing charges of multiple counts of rape, sexual abuse, acts of lasciviousness, murder, and car theft.

No bail was recommended for the most wanted person in Iriga City, 74-year-old Lorenzo Valenzuela of Barangay Sto. Domingo, after he was arrested on charges of two counts of qualified rape.

Another senior citizen was taken into custody in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, 63-year-old Salvador Mirador of Barangay Panagan, on acts of lasciviousness charges.

Also apprehended in Camarines Sur were suspected car thief Christopher Cañeso, 40, at his residence in Barangay San Antonio, Bombon; Gaspar Corona, 38, of Barangay Hiwacloy and Goa town’s most wanted, on a murder charge; Dominic Valenzuela, 19, of Barangay San Sebastian, Lagonoy, on a charge of rape; and Domingo Calvelo, 43, of Barangay F. Simeon, Ragay, on charges of nine counts of rape.

In Albay, John Felix Clavecilla, 23, of Barangay Naga and Tiwi town’s number two most wanted will be tried for eight counts of rape; and Henry Beraquit, 44 of Barangay Comon, Tabaco City, was collared in Barangay Buang, also on rape complaints.

In Castilla town, Sorsogon, Ryan Arcega, 28, of Barangay Quirapi, was held on charges of two counts of rape and three counts of child and women abuse. (PNA) – bny
