MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte had no contact with his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on Monday (Oct. 11).

Roque likewise announced the President will preside over the regular Talk to the People, signifying that he is in good health condition.

“I will be flying to Davao right after my press briefing, together with the selected members of the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases). So hindi naman po kami papupuntahin doon kung mayroon pong close contact si Presidente (We will not be invited there if the President had close contact),” he told the media.

The Davao City government announced late Saturday (Oct. 9) that its mayor has mild symptoms and is under isolation.
