Rains over Luzon on Saturday due to ‘amihan’

MANILA – The northeast monsoon, locally known as the “amihan”, will bring moderate to strong winds and some rains to Luzon on Saturday (Oct. 30).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions, brought by the “amihan.”

Mindanao, Mimaropa, and the rest of the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the “amihan” and localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will likewise have partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought by the “amihan.”

Moderate to strong winds headed northeast will blow over Northern Luzon, resulting in moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds headed northeast to east, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate and headed northeast, with slight to moderate seas.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 23°C to 33°C; Baguio City, 15°C to 24°C; Tagaytay City, 26°C to 29°C; Legazpi City, 26°C to 32°C; Metro Cebu, 25°C to 32°C; and Metro Davao, 25°C to 33°C. (PNA) – bny
