PNVF Champions League: Perlas Spikers, Crossovers pull off wins

LIPA City – The Tuguegarao Perlas Spikers and the Chery Tiggo Crossovers came out with respective wins on Monday (Nov. 22) at the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League on Monday held at the Aquamarine Recreational Center.

Maraguinot, who was solid in the service zone with six aces, had 10 points as the Perlas Spikers posted their second straight win after losing to Chery Tiggo on opening day.

“The most important thing is helping one another. And for everyone to be committed,” coach Rei Diaz said. “So far, everyone is sticking to our goal. So far, so good.”

Nicole Tiamzon chipped in four points to go with eight digs, Jules Samonte scored all of her three points from the service area and setter Fen Emnas tossed in 16 excellent sets and also scored three points.

In the other match, Justine Dorog sustained her solid play as Chery Tiggo overcame a stubborn California Precision Sports (CPS), 25-22, 27-25, 25-23, to regain its winning ways.

Dorog continued to fill in for injured Shaya Adorador and was solid in defense with 15 receptions, 10 digs, and seven attacks for the reigning Premier Volleyball League Open Conference champions.

“More than the points, it’s the heart and leadership of Justine that I would want to praise,” he added.
