3 weather systems to bring rain showers Wednesday

By Ma. Cristina Arayata / Philippine News Agency

Three weather systems will dampen some parts of the archipelago on Wednesday (Nov. 24).

Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will continue to experience rains caused by the amihan or northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin.

Isabela, Aurora, and mainland Cagayan will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line.

The Ilocos and Cordillera regions and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon will have isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Caraga region and Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Leyte provinces.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern and central Luzon.

A gale warning has been issued over the northern, eastern, and western seaboards of northern Luzon. Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) – jlo
