Capitalizing on the rapid growth of e-commerce and international trade facilitated by online marketplaces, FedEx Corporation is one of the big players that continue to invest in the localities where it conducts business.
For the Philippines, in particular, FedEx Airline and International President and CEO Richard Smith praised the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for expressing support as the logistics firm grows its operations in the country.
With close to 40 flights a week, the President and Finance Secretary Frederick Go discussed with the company’s executives the possibility of making the Philippines a regional hub for FedEx’s domestic and international operations.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of President Marcos Jr.’s attendance at the Forbes Global CEO Conference 2026 in Singapore.
FedEx operates two main facilities in the Philippines that include the Clark Gateway Hub in Pampanga and the Manila Gateway in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.
Opened in 2021 as a 17,000-square-meter facility at Clark International Airport, the Clark Hub serves as a central clearing and routing hub for international air freight in and out of the Philippines.
The company held a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2026, kicking off a massive expansion project that will expand the facility up to over 78,000 square meters, which will increase cargo handling and sorting capacity, with additional provisions for cold-chain/specialized freight.
Beyond physical package handling, FedEx operates an APAC Trade Facilitation Center within Clark, a regional unit processing administrative tasks, customs clearance documentation, data management, and profile matching for key Asia Pacific markets.
Established in 1971, FedEx Corporation is a US-based firm with multinational operations in more than 220 countries around the world, specializing in transportation and e-commerce logistics.
