PH gov’t repatriates over 800-K OFWs

Around 820,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been repatriated back to the country by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) from different countries through its repatriation program.

In the Laging Handa public briefing, OWWA Administrator Atty. Hans Leo Cacdac said that this December alone, around 80,000 to 100,000 OFWs will most likely come home to the Philippines for the holiday season.

A number of these Filipinos will come from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and many more.

This repatriation is just some of the OWWA’s programs in recognition of the contribution and heroism of OFWs in relation to the month of OFWs, December.

Cacdac says there are many more programs for the country’s new heroes.

“Patuloy pa rin ang ating OWWA benefits. Hindi po nagtatapos sa food transport. Nandiyan ang ating livelihood, scholarship, and medical assistance,” he said. -Report from Allan Francisco/PG-rir
