Cloudy skies, some rains on Saturday

MANILA – The shear line affecting southern Luzon and the northeast monsoon or “amihan” affecting northern and central Luzon will bring cloudy skies and some rains to most parts of the country on Saturday (Dec. 11).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the Calabarzon, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas regions, as well as Marinduque and Romblon, will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the shear line.

On the other hand, cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, and Aurora due to the “amihan”.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds headed northeast will blow over Luzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao, resulting in moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds headed northeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 21°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 12°C to 22°C; Legazpi City, 25°C to 30°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 25°C to 29°C; and Metro Davao, 25°C to 33°C. (PNA) – bny
